It is not everyday that we feature analogue projects, but we are pleased to feature Nigerian born mixed media artist Njideka Aukunyili. Her portraits of her daily life are inspirational. Most of her artwork depicts her intimate life with her American husband. Aukunyili’s work is fast gaining attention inspiring conversation around love, heritage and culture.

“My art addresses my internal tension between my deep love for Nigeria, my country of birth, and my strong appreciation for Western culture…The work deals with various themes but the overarching thread is that I’m availing myself of Western painting to seek out a new visual language. In my work disparate elements clash together to give rise to a distinctive yet cohesive whole.  ”
– Njideka Akunyili, Interview with Arise Magazine
