Thug Definition: 3D Character Design Process

Take a look at the work of Nigerian digital artist, David Ella. We recently featured his portfolio and we thought you might enjoy more on his process. 

My attempt in creating a photo-realistic character of a ‘gangster.’ Facial features here are strongly defined and the final render depicts the raw and highly detailed skin. 

Rendered and textured in Daz3d; I had the composition was done in Photoshop using the final render and maps I generated in zbrush from the exported basemodel. I intended to create a more painterly effect as against maintaining a raw 3D look from the final render. This I believe is more for an artistic end.
