D&AD Awards

D&AD celebrates and nurtures outstanding work in design and advertising. This year’s Awards mark our 50th anniversary of doing just that.

D&AD is about brilliant commercial creativity, wherever and however it’s produced. Whether you work in Design, Advertising or Digital there’s an awards category for your entry.

Our 25 specialist juries mean that the top people in each specific field judge and award your work according to D&AD’s set criteria.

And it’s not just our tough judging standards that set us apart from other award shows. Your entry fee provides the funds for our international Education programmes, supporting and developing the future generations of creative talent.

The Yellow Pencil is recognised the world over as a symbol of the very highest creative achievement. Last year we added the ‘Slice’ to honour those who are awarded at Nomination and In Book level. This year, as every year, the D&AD Annual will showcase the best work, providing an invaluable and unrivalled source of creative inspiration.

Then, of course, there is our annual Awards Night, a unique get together of creative talent to celebrate the very best of the best.

Award Levels

In Book

The year’s best creative work. In Book work features in the D&AD Annual.

Nomination

Work that rises above In Book standard and has the potential to win a Pencil.

Yellow Pencil

Work that is outstanding, rather than merely brilliant, wins a Yellow Pencil.

Black Pencil

The best of the best, the ultimate award, for work that is truly groundbreaking. Only a handful of Black Pencils are awarded each year.

Find out what benefits winning at the D&AD Awards can provide.

African Digital Art Network was created and developed by Jepchumba, a Kenyan digital artist living in Chicago, Illinois. The term digital art is permeating through the web even though the precise definition is unclear. Digital art covers a wide range of artistic production; audio/visual production, animation, interactive projects, websites, short films, graphic art and design. African Digital Art is an online collective, a creative space, where digital artist, enthusiasts and professionals can seek inspiration, showcase their artistry and connect with emerging artists.
