Hey Guys,

Over the weekend we made major changes to the community. The reason being was that we added more features and we upgraded the community so things may not look as what they seem. So let us give you a little introduction on the new community and some of the new functions and features we’ve added.

Activity

The new site has an activity stream where you can see the most recent activity throughout the site. You can see what people have been up to recently including their status, comments and also work they have posted on their profiles and groups. You can directly post to the activity stream, favorite someone’s post or directly mention one of the members by using @mentions. All activities come with a RSS feed which you can subscribe to and you have the option of getting notifications whenever your want.

Extended Profiles

Not only can you create your own avatar, you now have the option of adding more information about yourself, your portfolio, twitter, and area of expertise. You can update or change your profile anytime.

Albums

Many of you were wondering if you would be able to add images to the site to show your portfolios, we are pleased to announce that now you can. You can upload pictures to your album, add a title, description, and choose privacy options (public, visible to members, visible to friends, and private). You can also enable and disable comments on a per-image basis.

Tweetstream

We also integrated the community with twitter. You can now synchronize your activity stream with your tweets. You can also send a tweet on a forum topic or when you create a forum topic.

Private Messaging

Every ADA community member has their own private inbox. Private messaging allows you to talk to each other directly and in private. You are not limited to one on one discussions you can send a message to multiple recipients.

Groups

One of the most exciting feature on the ADA community is the Groups. A group can be either public, private or hidden and it allows you to network around a specific topic with others who share a common interest. Through the group you can also create forums for discussion. The groups feature also comes with an awesome group calendar where you can publish and publicize events around your local community which you hope to invite other members.

These are just some of the highlights of the major changes we’ve made on the site. There is always more to come as your suggestions come in. The best way to get to know your way around is just to experiment. Happy networking!
