If you didn’t already know, we thought we would tell you about Awesome Tapes from Africa. We hope to continue to catalogue amazing digital platforms like Awesome Tapes from Africa. Begun by music publicist Brian Shimkovitz in 2006, Awesome Tapes is an archive of rare African music cassette tapes that have been digitized. What I love about this platform is that it is features a treasure trove of rare and often forgotten sounds from different parts of the continent as well as inspirational cover art.
