Chaskele was one of the earliest animated shorts we saw from Ghana back in 2012. The animated film is inspired by a Ghanian children’s game.
Chaskele is an old Ghanaian childhood game that’s a cross between, or perhaps, a predecessor to, baseball and golf. The game is played with a stick, a bucket and crushed cans.
In the small growing African animated community, we were not surprised to find out that it was a final school project by Bertil Toby Svanekiaer. Since then he has produced many projects and we love that he shared a lot of the behind the scenes of creating this project and his many revisions and adaptations to it. Enjoy.
