Mikolo is a children’s animation and live-action film by Niyi Akinmolayan. It’s about two kids who became friends with a magical bird after their curiosity led them into a mystical forest. Though it focuses on the kids, parents can learn from it about mending broken relationships and working hand-in-hand with other parents to raise their kids.
Directed and created by Niyi Akinmolayan “Mikolo” brings to life a captivating tale that blends fantasy, friendship, and self-discovery. Set in a magical realm where the boundaries between reality and the extraordinary are blurred, the movie follows the adventures of Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga and Oluwapamilerinayo and also stars Etim Effiong and Yvonne Jegede.
Shot in Ondo State Nigeria, Mikolo is a family adventure film which follows the story of two children whose visit to their grandma leads them to discover the Irumole forest where magical creatures live. Drawn by a simple snack, one of the magical creature follows them home without their knowledge. This leads to an adventurous holiday for the children as the creature is captured by the village hunters and the children must save it and return it to the Irumole forest. Their parents are forced to put aside their differences and work together in order to find their missing children.
