Nkosana Nkomo also known as Nkosana the Art, is a digital artist mainly influenced by spirituality. Nkomo’s work depicts dynamic subjects that plunge you into African storytelling and other realms.
Born and raised in South Africa, Nkosana’s artistic interests began in elementary school where he started drawing with traditional mediums such as pencil and paper. However, it wasn’t until he was in college that he discovered his passion for digital painting and illustration.
Nkosana’s work is heavily influenced by his spirituality and African culture. He believes that his art is a medium through which he can connect with his ancestors and share their messages with the world. His pieces often depict different realms, times, and spaces, and have been described as inspiring, guiding, and even blessing those who view them.
As a proud Zulu man, Nkosana has also been labeled as the “Zulu illustrator.” However, he believes that his work goes beyond his ethnicity and speaks to people of all backgrounds and cultures. In fact, his goal is to showcase the beauty and depth of various African tribes and cultures through his art.
There are many points as to why I do this kind of work, to put “African” tribes and cultures in the light that has been long deserved, there is so much beauty in our culture and spirituality and the best I can do is demonstrate it using my gift.
Aside from his digital art, Nkosana is also the founder of Ezabxntu, a textile and clothing brand that is set to launch next year. The brand aims to incorporate his unique style and spiritual approach into its designs, making a statement in the international fashion industry.
