Precious Seronga is a Tanzanian illustrator and designer whose work celebrates African heritage through vibrant, maximalist art. Currently based in London, she uses her talent to educate and empower, particularly within the African diaspora.
“I use my illustrations and digital print to create art that celebrates my African heritage, educate the western community and empower Africans in the diaspora.”
Her artistic journey began in Tanzania, where she developed a passion for art from a young age. Encouraged by her parents, she pursued this passion, eventually moving to the UK around 2018 to enhance her skills in the creative industry.
Precious’s work is characterized by the use of Afro-maximalism, an aesthetic that embraces bold patterns, vibrant colors, and intricate designs. She combines haute couture fashion elements with African textiles to create illustrations that are both striking and sophisticated. Her art often features women of color in states of elegance and opulence, challenging traditional narratives and promoting positive representation.
